So this week’s #struggle of the week came from one of my co-workers. Although she is about to be married in a couple of weeks, she had plenty of dating struggles to share before she met her Prince Charming.
This one guy she dated she met at her previous job for a prestigious corporation. He was always very complimentary of her beauty and how much he loved her natural blonde hair. He talked about how much his family would love her and how beautiful their kids would be if they were to get married.
Of course what woman can resist a compliment from the right man? So she agreed to go out on a few dates with him.
They hung out rather often outside of work. She enjoyed his company, and the compliments 🙂
One time they were invited to a party on Galveston beach by one of her friends.
After the party was winding down, she and her date decided to take a romantic stroll along the beach. A friend of hers and her date decided to tag along.
However, my coworker noticed that her date was spending more time talking to her friend’s boyfriend than he was with her. He then proceeded to take his shirt off and almost strut femininely in front of the other guy.
Of course she found this to be strange but she didn’t make much of it.
Later she noticed one day at work that his eyelashes looked different and she’d asked him if he’d used an eyelash curler. Of course he denied it but she was pretty sure that he had by the unique shape of his lashes on that particular day.
A few months in and several outings later, she noticed that he’d never tried to kiss her or even make a move on her in an intimate way.
She once spent the night over his house. He offered her one of his shirts and she was wearing nothing but his shirt and panties. Now while most men would’ve definitely tried to make some kind of move at this point, this guy offered her his bed and he slept on the couch. His reasoning was that he was raised to respect women and he didn’t want to violate her body in any way.
Sounds good right? Keep reading….
Later this guy asked her hand in marriage and wanted her to move in with him (keep in mind, they’ve never even kissed yet.) At this point, she said she’d had enough of his denial and she just came out and told him, “I’m not going to marry you because you are gay. There’s no reason to be in denial about it. I will still care about you but you’re gay.”
He never denied it, but he never contested the allegation either. His reply was simply “If you think that, what must other people think?”
She never really heard from him again after that conversation until a few months ago when he sent her a friend request on Facebook.
And what she saw on his page shouldn’t really shock you at all….
There were pictures of his wedding…..TO ANOTHER MAN!!!!!!!!! I saw
the pictures myself!!!!!!!!!!!
Now what if that woman had’ve married him??
That would’ve been a Marital Struggle!!!!
Guess he finally came out huh? Good for him…..and definitely good for her for dodging that bullet.
smh…come or the closet ppl, society might not accept yu but yu will feel a weight lifted…iknow did *cheers
That’s more than sensblie! That’s a great post!
